My brother Louis and his wife Jenn were recently in town.  We planned for an adult only dinner (whoop whoop!) and I was THRILLED to be able to go check out Airdrie's newest restaurant, Hayloft on 8th. Louis and I come from a family where food is important. Our dad was Sicilian, and our mom is French Canadian. Growing up, lots revolved around food: the quality of the food, and the love and skill that goes in it while it's being prepared with the freshest of ingredients. Naturally, Louis and I grew up to be foodies who appreciate quality, use of local ingredients and clever food pairings. We also appreciate ambiance and decor in a restaurant. Well... If you haven't checked out Hayloft, you are in for a treat! As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by James, the general manager! The establishment is welcoming and each piece of furniture and decor makes you immediately feel like you are in the middle of a city in a trendy restaurant. It reminded Louis and I of somewhere like Yaletown.  But it's a 5 minute drive from our place in Airdrie! It has an urban, yet warm and cozy feel. In the images above, you will see a small assortment of what we ate that evening! We tried each other's foods and all was delicious, tasty, fresh and well presented!  We will definitely be back!
